Assistant Administrator for Acquisition
Latetia Henderson became TSA’s Assistant Administrator for the Office of Acquisition in July 2013.
As the Assistant Administrator, Henderson is responsible for the development of the contracting workforce and acquisition policy. She reviews contract awards, investments, interagency agreements and other transactions. TSA’s acquisitions include technology, operational contracting, construction, research and development, Other Transactions Agreements, and other types of financial assistance.
In October 2011, Henderson was selected as Deputy Assistant Administrator for Acquisition to lead TSA’s organization of more than 170 acquisition and contracting professionals responsible for obligating and procuring goods and services valued at more than $3.2 billion.
As a federal acquisition professional with 30 years of experience, Henderson has made significant contributions to the execution of critical missions at several federal agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration and Department of the Interior. Most recently she led TSA’s successful obligation of more than a billion dollars of the American Re-investment and Recovery Act allocation.
In addition, she has held several managerial roles at TSA, including Project Lead in the Office of Human Capital and Division Director for the Security Technology Acquisition Division in the Office of Acquisition.
Henderson received a Bachelor of Sociology from the University of Virginia. She began her federal career as a Developmental Intern in the Naval Air Systems Command Contract Specialist Program where she assumed a senior negotiator position on the Tomahawk Baseline Improvement Program.
