The Registered Traveler (RT) Business Model is meant to provide stakeholders and interested members of the general public with a basis for discussing and planning for RT. This document is not meant to represent the final product in RT's development, but rather a snapshot of the current concept of the program's structure.

The Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 ("the SAFETY Act" or "the Act"), provides critical incentives for the development and deployment of anti-terrorism technologies by providing liability protections for providers of "qualified anti-terrorism technologies." The purpose of this rule is to facilitate and promote the development and deployment of anti-terrorism technologies.
On November 28, 2006, TSA has issued its notice on the standard fee amount for the Registered Traveler (RT) Program in the Federal Register.
