MOLINE, Ill. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) named Rick Gordon as the federal security director for Quad City International and eight other Illinois airports.

"Rick's background in law enforcement and his experience overseeing federal security operations at several airports will serve him well in this position," said Lee Kair, TSA's assistant administrator for Security Operations.

Gordon joined TSA in September 2002 as deputy federal security director for Pocatello Regional Airport in Idaho. In July 2006 he was appointed Western Area operations officer for Security Operations at TSA headquarters. Later that year, Gordon was named federal security director for Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Mich., and eight spoke airports.

Before joining TSA, Gordon spent 28 years in local law enforcement in Washington County Ore., near Portland. He also served for four years in the U.S. Air Force.

As federal security director Gordon will oversee TSA security operations at Quad City International and the following airports: Abraham Lincoln Capital, Springfield; Central Illinois Regional, Bloomington-Normal; Decatur; MidAmerica, Mascoutah; Peoria International; Quincy Regional; University of Illinois-Willard, Savoy; and Williamson County Regional, Marion.
