TSA is continuing to deploy multi-view X-ray machines and whole body imagers.

TSA has installed about 200 of the faster, clearer X-ray machines to airports including Detroit, Phoenix, Washington-Dulles, Denver, Washington-Reagan, Dallas Forth-Worth, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Miami. Installations are ongoing at Atlanta, Boston, Ohare. These new x-ray machines include multiple views of carry-on baggage and a much clearer image, allowing officers to screen carry-on bags with fewer physical searches.

Millimeter wave whole body imagers are currently deployed to airports in Detroit (DTW), Phoenix, Los Angeles (LAX), Baltimore, New York (JFK) Denver, Dallas Forth-Worth, Albuquerque. In the coming weeks, Millimeter wave will be deployed to additional airports including Miami, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Indianapolis, La Guardia, Tampa, Newark, San Juan, Ohare. Millimeter wave enables officers to screen passengers for metallic and non-metallic items without conducting pat-down inspections.
