Officers and staff from TSA Piedmont Triad International Airport volunteered to support the recent inaugural run of the North Carolina Marathon. The TSA team staffed a hydration station near the finish line and provided water, energy drinks, nutritional supplements and encouragement to the runners.

More than 1,500 runners participated in the marathon celebrating Greensboro’s bicentennial and benefiting Foster Friends of North Carolina, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to local foster children.

"This was a great opportunity for TSA to participate in a community event and support a worthy cause," said Janet Riffe, assistant FSD-Inspections. "We look forward to making this an annual volunteer event."
