At this time, the incident involving a fixed-wing aircraft in New York City appears to be an accident.
There is no specific or credible intelligence suggesting an imminent threat to the nation. The Department of Homeland Security continues to coordinate closely with federal partners like the Federal Aviation Administration and the FBI who are on scene in support of local first responders.
DHS is in direct communication with state and local partners, who continue to lead local emergency response efforts.
