TSA's Statement on American Eagle Flight to Raleigh-Durham International Airport

American Eagle flight 4518 departed Jacksonville International Airport at 7:10 p.m. with a destination of Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). Approximately 30 minutes prior to landing at RDU, a flight attendant observed a passenger acting suspiciously and reported this information to the pilot who in turn contacted authorities on the ground.

Upon landing at approximately 8:40 p.m., the aircraft taxied to a remote location of the airfield where law enforcement officers responded. At approximately 9:45 p.m. passengers departed the aircraft and were transported to the terminal via bus. TSA is working with its local, state and federal partners. The FBI is leading the law enforcement response to this incident.
