At approx 4:00 p.m. on October 25 a passenger bound for Delta flight 16 from ATL to JFK with continuing service to Mumbai, India was found to have concealed weapons in his carry on bag at the TSA security screening checkpoint The passenger indicated the bag belonged to his travel companion, who had already proceeded to the flight. The travel companion was removed from the flight and searched. The two passengers were referred to local law enforcement and out of an abundance of caution the decision was made to rescreen all passengers and their carry-on belongings. The flight departed at 8:47 p.m.
