The Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA) established a series of challenging but critically important milestones toward achieving a secure air travel system.  These THEN and NOW charts illustrate the changes and progress that has been made since 9/11.  Chart One, the Aviation Security System of Systems, lists Security Program Components prior to 9/11 and compares then to today with the creation of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).  Chart Two, on Security Screeners, lists issues that were addressed by TSA after 9/11 to enhance aviation security at the checkpoint.
