WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today named Paul Wisniewski as the Federal Security Director for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
"Paul Wisniewski will provide exceptional leadership for TSA in Cincinnati," said Rear Adm. David M. Stone, USN (Ret.), TSA's Acting Administrator. "He is a skilled and experienced professional who will be on the front lines carrying out TSA's mission against terrorism."
Wisniewski has worked for the past two years at TSA headquarters overseeing the federalization of airport security operations for over 450 airports nationwide. He has held several senior leadership positions in the agency's Aviation Operations Division and recently served as Director of TSA's Crisis Management Directorate.
Before joining TSA, Wisniewski spent 23 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in a number of staff and command positions. His last assignment was as head of the Prepositioning Section within Plans, Policy, and Operations at Marine Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Wisniewski earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids, Mich., and his master's degree in International Relations from Salve Regina University, Newport, R.I.
The position of federal security director was created by the Aviation and Transportation Security Act signed by President Bush on November 19, 2001.
