FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced the selection of Peter Iovino to be Director of the agency's Office of Legislative Affairs. Since May 10, Iovino has acted as TSA's chief liaison with Members of the House and Senate and Congressional staff, coordinating TSA's legislative activities.

"Peter will be an excellent asset to the agency. His private-sector experience will add an important dimension to our legislative affairs activities," said Rear Adm. David M. "He will continue TSA's practice of being responsive to Congress and work with our nation's leaders to educate them on the ever-evolving security measures needed to protect our country against terrorists."

Iovino comes to TSA after 15 years with the Ford Motor Co. where he led the Fortune 10 company's international government relations and tax policy activities. He worked with congressional and federal officials on topics including customs and border issues, corporate tax policy, aerospace and defense matters and civil litigation reform.

Iovino has over 25 years experience working with congressional leaders in Washington. Before going to work for Ford, Iovino was a partner in the law firm of Karalekas, McCahill, Wilson and Iovino from 1984 to 1987, focusing on congressional and regulatory affairs.
