TSA Names Art Meinke Federal Security Director at Orlando International Airport

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has named Art Meinke as the Federal Security Director at Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Florida. Meinke, previously the Deputy Federal Security Director at MCO, will oversee all TSA activities at the airport.

"Art Meinke has already proven himself to be a dedicated professional with strong leadership skills," said Rear Adm. David M. Stone, USN (Ret.), Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for TSA. "The agency is extremely pleased to have him as part of our team as we work to protect the nation's travelers."

Before joining TSA, Meinke was responsible for managing more than 500 employees as the General Manager for United Airlines at Miami International Airport (MIA). Prior to that, he was Station Operations Manager for United Airlines in Brazil and Singapore. During his career, he was elected President of the Airline Management Council at Singapore Changi International Airport, and President of the Airline Management Council at Miami International Airport.

Meinke has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco and is a graduate of Dale Carnegie with skills in Public Speaking and Interpersonal Relationships.

He is fluent in Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese.

The position of federal security director was created by the Aviation and Transportation Security Act signed by President Bush on November 19, 2001.
