TSA Pledges $1.6 Million For Explosives Detection System At Sacramento International Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rear Adm. David M. Stone, USN (Ret.), Assistant Secretary for Homeland Security for TSA announced today that TSA has agreed to commit $1.6 million to the Sacramento County Airport System for improving the checked baggage screening system in Terminals B-1 and B-2 at Sacramento International Airport.
"TSA is moving beyond placing explosives detection equipment in temporary, unwieldy space to creating permanent solutions for screening checked baggage that serve our missions of providing the highest level of security and strong customer service," said Admiral Stone.
"This agreement is a testament to the ongoing partnership among TSA, Sacramento County Airport System and the airlines," he added.
TSA continues to work with Congress and the aviation community to deploy permanent baggage screening solutions for airports.
