ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has named Kathleen Roscher federal security director (FSD) for John Wayne Airport.

For the past three years, Roscher served as assistant federal security director at San Francisco International Airport. In this position, she acted as principal adviser to the FSD on compliance, enforcement and security programs.

Roscher has been a fixture in the aviation industry for nearly 30 years. Prior to joining TSA, she spent six years at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) where she served in a number of positions including supervisory special agent and lead special agent/dangerous goods and cargo security. Additionally, Roscher worked in the private sector for 13 years at Northwest Airlines where she supervised their transportation agents.

"Kathleen Roscher's extensive knowledge of aviation both inside and outside the government is a true asset to TSA," said Mo McGowan, TSA's assistant administrator for Security Operations. "Her leadership and dedication to the mission of securing our nation's transportation system will serve residents and visitors to Orange County very well."

Roscher holds a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and a master's degree from St. Mary's College of California. She replaces Skip Williams who was selected as a TSA senior field executive.
