WASHINGTON – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today named Keith Kauffman assistant administrator for the Office of Intelligence. Previously, Kauffman served as the deputy assistant administrator for Intelligence at TSA.

"As a rising leader within TSA, Keith is primed to continue the success of the Office of Intelligence," said TSA Administrator Kip Hawley. "His knowledge of TSA’s unique intelligence needs coupled with his diverse experience in the intelligence community makes him ideal to lead this important organization. I start every day with Keith and his intelligence colleagues and TSA depends on their analysis to help direct our security activities."

As the deputy assistant administrator for Intelligence, Kauffman assisted in the direction of analysis and production of intelligence and threat products related to the nation's transportation systems. Prior to joining TSA, Kauffman served for 24 years with the National Security Agency (NSA).

During his tenure with the NSA, Kauffman was a member of the team that stood-up the NSA Threat Operations Center and served as the chief of analysis within its information operations technology center. Kauffman began his career as a member of the U.S. Army.

Kauffman earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland University College with a degree in technology management. In 2002, he received his MBA from Johns Hopkins University in business.
