TSA Names Gary Milano Federal Security Director for Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has named Gary Milano as the federal security director for Tampa International, Sarasota Bradenton International and St. Petersburg-Clearwater International airports.

Milano joined TSA in 2002 as the federal security director for Syracuse-Hancock International and six other airports in New York.

"Gary has a record of real success in his five years with TSA," said Mo McGowan, TSA's assistant administrator for Security Operations. "His leadership and experience will serve him well as he continues with the agency in Florida."

Before joining TSA, Milano worked for the U.S. Department of Justice for 15 years in a variety of positions that included assistant U.S. attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of New Hampshire. As chief of the Criminal Division, he supervised every federal prosecutor in New Hampshire. Prior to that, he was a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Washington, D.C., and an assistant district attorney in the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, New York City.

Milano holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy, a master’s degree in American history, and a Doctor of Law degree, all from St. John’s University.
