TSA Launches "Still Proudly Serving" Military Service Campaign for Veteran’s Day

WASHINGTON – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will launch a new multimedia campaign today entitled, Still Proudly Serving, to honor its Transportation Security Officers who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Nearly 25 percent of the TSA workforce is a veteran or active duty reserve member of the U.S. Armed Forces.

The Still Proudly Serving campaign spotlights TSA employees who are veterans or active duty reservists through signage at airport checkpoints and veteran profiles on TSA’s website www.tsa.gov.

“TSA is proud to count many uniformed service members among our workforce,” said TSA Administrator John S. Pistole. “We value the continued commitment of our veterans and active duty military employees to TSA’s mission, and to ensuring the safety of all Americans.”

Signage will initially be placed at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) before expanding to additional airports in the coming months.

TSA offers expedited screening for U.S. Armed Forces service members including reservist and National Guard members through TSA Pre✓™ at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), Honolulu International Airport (HNL), Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). TSA also supports the Honor Flight Network, which transports U.S. veterans and their escorts to Washington, D.C. area airports, to visit the war memorials built and dedicated to honor their service.

TSA wants to facilitate the screening of passengers with disabilities and medical conditions, including injured and wounded service members and veterans. To address these specific situations, the TSA Cares helpline will help support and facilitate the movement of injured service members and veterans through the security screening process at our nation’s airports. This service is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. (EST/EDT) and weekends and holidays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (EST/EDT) to travelers who call 1-855-787-2227 or e-mail TSA-ContactCenter@dhs.gov.

The TSA workforce embodies service men and women from all ranks and military branches. TSA works collaboratively with the Department of Defense (DoD), veterans groups and other government agencies to recruit and hire talented veterans.
