New Health Benefits Program Offers Incentive for Part-Time Employees

WASHINGTON - An innovative new benefits program means Transportation Security Administration (TSA) part-time transportation security officers (TSOs) throughout the country can now pay lower health insurance premiums - the same amount as their full-time counterparts. The change will result in substantial savings and act as an important incentive to attract and retain this critical group of employees.

TSA Names Brian Delauter Federal Security Director for Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has named Brian Delauter as the federal security director for Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport and seven other airports in Georgia and South Carolina.

Delauter comes to Savannah from Jacksonville, Fla., where he served most recently as assistant federal security director.

DHS Agencies Announce Date for TWIC Program Enrollment at Corpus Christi, Texas

TSA Tests Second Passenger Imaging Technology at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport

PHOENIX – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced today it will begin testing millimeter wave passenger imaging technology at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) as a voluntary alternative to a pat-down during secondary screening. In a matter of seconds, this technology can detect weapons, explosives and other threat items concealed under layers of clothing without physical contact.

TSA Awards Multiple Contracts to Expand Suite of Security Technology

WASHINGTON – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced that the agency has awarded $52.3 million worth of contracts to deploy security technology piloted at airports and mass transit facilities in recent months, moving to quickly bring enhanced screening equipment to the nation's travelers. Newly procured technology includes: advanced technology (AT) X-ray; automated explosives detection (auto-EDS) for the checkpoint; bottled liquid scanners; passive millimeter wave; and a cast/prosthetics screening device.
