TSA Awards Information Technology Infrastructure Contract

WASHINGTON - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced today it has awarded its Information Technology Infrastructure Program (ITIP) contract to CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation), of Falls Church, Va., for the deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of TSA's IT infrastructure capabilities. The award, with a base period of May 2010 – May 2011, is worth a total of approximately $489 million for a five year life cycle.

TSA Names Amy Williams as Federal Security Director for Dallas Love Field Airport

DALLAS – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced today that Amy Williams has been named Federal Security Director (FSD) at Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL). In this role, Williams will oversee all TSA security operations at DAL as well as Tyler Pounds Regional Airport (TYR), East Texas Regional Airport (GGG) and Wichita Falls Municipal Airport (SPS), all in Texas.

"On April 27 Federal Air Marshals responded to a passenger causing a disturbance on board Delta flight 273 from Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG) to Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Out of an abundance of caution the flight was diverted to Bangor International Airport (BGR).‪‪

TSA and NYPD Screening Partnership

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is partnering with the New York Police Department (NYPD) to enhance existing security measures in NY transit systems.

Using Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR) teams, TSA is implementing a pilot program to assist with mobile screening of passengers' bags. Random and unpredictable security measures, like mobile screening and VIPR teams, can regularly be seen at anytime throughout airports, in rail environments and at transit stations across the country.
