TSA Statement on Delta Flight 1747

TSA is aware that a suspicious note was discovered this morning in a seat pocket on board Delta flight 1747 from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) as the plane was on approach to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

TSA Statement on United Flight 663

Press Release

On Wednesday, April 7 TSA responded to an incident on board United Airlines flight 663 from DCA to DEN after Federal Air Marshals responded to a passenger causing a disturbance on board the aircraft. The flight landed safely at Denver International Airport at approximately 8:50 p.m. EDT.

Law enforcement and TSA responded to the scene and the passenger was interviewed by law enforcement. All steps were taken to ensure the safety of the traveling public.

Secretary Napolitano Announces New Measures to Strengthen Aviation Security

WASHINGTON — Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano today announced that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin implementing new enhanced security measures for all air carriers with international flights to the United States to strengthen the safety and security of all passengers—superseding the emergency measures put in place immediately following the attempted terrorist attack on Dec. 25, 2009.

TSA Statement on Continental Flight 881

Continental Airlines Flight 881 from Newark Liberty International Airport to Bogota International Airport was diverted to Jacksonville International Airport due to a potential person of interest. The plane landed without incident at approximately 5:45pm. The passenger was cleared by the FBI and the flight is continuing to Bogota.

TSA is appreciative of the efforts of the Port Authority Police that led to the arrest of the individual who caused the incident at Newark Liberty Airport on Sunday, Jan. 3.

Clearing Terminal C's concourses and rescreening all passengers was necessary given the fact an individual violated access controls and entered the sterile area.
