2nd TSA Pre✓® application center now open at DFW

DALLAS — The Transportation Security Administration and American Airlines today announced the opening of a second application site at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) for TSA Pre✓®, an expedited screening program that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and keep 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels in a carry-on bag. This site, located in the middle of Terminal C, will be exclusively for ticketed and connecting passengers. The original center is located pre-security at Terminal D, Gate 30.

TSA Pre✓® expands to students of 4 US service academies

WASHINGTON — As the result of the ongoing partnership with the Department of Defense, the Transportation Security Administration has extended TSA Pre✓® expedited screening benefits to students of four U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy, Naval Academy, Coast Guard Academy and Air Force Academy.

Cadets and midshipmen of these four academies are now able to enjoy the benefits of this expedited screening program at more than 120 participating airports when flying on 11 major airlines.

TSA Pre✓® expands to Hector International Airport

TSA Administrator John Pistole to retire from TSA

WASHINGTON – John S. Pistole, the Transportation Security Administration’s longest serving administrator, today announced his retirement from public service, effective Dec. 31, 2014, following more than 31 years in the federal government, including four and a half years at TSA and 26 years at the FBI.

In the coming weeks, Administrator Pistole is expected to be named to a position in academia beginning in early 2015.

PHOENIX — The Transportation Security Administration and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) today announced the opening of an application site for TSA Pre✓™, an expedited screening program that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and keep 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels in a carry-on bag. TSA has opened more than 300 application centers across the country, including 28 airport locations.
