TSA's Military Severely Injured Program

Office of Civil Rights and Liberties

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), in partnership with the Department of Defense Wounded Warrior Program, facilitates the air travel of injured service men and women through the TSA Military Severely Injured program. TSA employees, like all Americans, value the contributions and great sacrifices our military men and women have made on behalf of making America a safer place.

The purpose of TSA's program is to support and facilitate the movement of injured service members through the security screening process at the nation's airports. Wounded Warrier Regiment logoPersons eligible for this program include members from all branches of the armed services who have special travel needs, as well as their accompanying family members.

To request assistance through the program, injured service men and women, or their designee(s), should contact TSA by telephone, email, or fax at least 24 hours prior to flying. This will allow time for TSA Military Severely Injured Program personnel to contact local TSA officials at the departing airport. Local TSA officials will then contact the person requesting assistance to facilitate the injured service member's screening process.
