Central Contractor Registration (CCR)

The Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is the primary vendor database for the Department of Defense (DoD) and many other Government agencies including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The CCR collects, validates, stores and disseminates data in support of agency missions.

Both current and potential government vendors are required to register with CCR in order do be eligible for contract awards and payments by participating agencies. Vendors are required to complete a one-time registration to provide basic information relevant to procurement and financial transactions. Vendors must update or renew their registration annually to maintain an active status.

The Central Contractor Registration (CCR) validates the vendor's information and facilitates electronic payments by sharing the secure and encrypted data with the federal agencies' finance offices to facilitate paperless payments through electronic funds transfer (EFT). Additionally CCR shares the data with several government procurement and electronic business systems.

Any contractor who receives a contract from the Federal Government in the amount of $25,000 or more or any subcontractor who receives a contract from such a covered contractor in the amount of $25,000 or more must file a VETS-100 Report on an annual basis to the Department of Labor (DoL). In accordance with 38 USC 4212(d), Government Contractors are required to take affirmative action to hire and promote qualified targeted veterans which includes special disabled veterans of the Vietnam-era, recently separated veterans and any other veterans who served on active duty during a war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized. The VETS-100 Report requires employers to report the number of veteran employees and the number of new hires. Potential Contractors who submit offers in response to requirements covered by this statute represent that they have submitted the most recent VETS-100 Report required. Additional Information is available through the DoL website - VETS Fact Sheet and VETS Frequently Asked Questions
