Transit Security Grant Program (Tier I) Awards

Grant Awards for Fiscal Years 2006 through 2010

FY 2010 TSGP Grants awards total $253.4 million, with $226.1 million awarded to Tier I regions.
Grant recipients are intracity rail, bus, and ferry systems in the 8 highest risk regions (high risk regions have the highest passenger volume and density, most underground or underwater track mileage, and most critical infrastructure).
FY 2010 Funding Priorities reflect projects that prevent or protect against terrorism and will have an immediate impact in reducing risk. Examples include: security training for frontline employees; visible/unpredictable deterrence activities, such as canine teams, mobile screening teams, and Anti-Terrorism Teams (ATTs); drills and exercises; public awareness programs; tunnel hardening; and protection of high-density multi-user stations.
