General Information

Aircraft operators requesting a waiver to the current published NOTAM 6/7435 must submit the TSA waiver application consisting of the Waiver Request Form and The Security Statement to TSA Office of Special Operations, Office of Airspace Waivers via fax at 571-227-1945 or 571-227-2948. Operators include the following:

Types of International Waivers

Single Trip Waivers - International Single Trip Waivers authorize aircraft operators to operate to/from and within the airspace of the United States and its territorial possessions. This waiver may be granted to companies and/or organizations applying for single day or multiple day flights involving one or more aircraft. These waivers are issued under the following conditions:

Process:

  1. Applicants must submit a completed waiver request.
  2. The waiver application is reviewed and evaluated by the Office of Airspace Waivers.
  3. Companies/Pilots are required to provide TSA with updated information on all new pilots, flight crew, and passengers who fly on any aircraft listed on a fleet waiver.
  4. All pilots/crew/passengers must provide first name, middle name, last name, date of birth, city/state/country of birth, passport number, passport country of issuance, and a Social Security Number for US born.
  5. Pilots are required to provide and adhere to flight itinerary(s).
  6. To renew an existing or expired single trip waiver the applicant must submit a new waiver request form and security statement.
  7. A waiver can be issued for up to 90 days provided there are no records of violations.
  8. Single trip waivers do not grant access to any TFR areas.
  9. Pilots must possess a hard copy of the waiver when filing a flight plan and keep a copy in the aircraft.
  10. The start and end flight dates must be indicated on the waiver application form.

Fleet Waivers - An international fleet waiver authorizes aircraft operators to operate to/from, within, and over the airspace of the United States and its territorial possessions. Waivers may be granted to individual pilots, companies and/or organizations applying for a single day trip or multiple day trip flights that involve two or more aircraft. A Fleet Waiver will be issued for a maximum of 3-months.

Process:

  1. Applicants must submit a completed waiver request.
  2. The waiver application is reviewed and evaluated by the Office of Airspace Waivers.
  3. Companies/Pilots are required to provide TSA with updated information on all new pilots, flight crew, and passengers who fly on any aircraft listed on a fleet waiver.
  4. All pilots/crew/passengers must provide first name, middle name, last name, date of birth, city/state/country of birth, passport number, passport country of issuance, and a Social Security Number for US born.
  5. To renew an existing or expired fleet waiver the applicant must submit a new waiver request form and security statement.
  6. Fleet waivers do not grant access to any TFR area.
  7. Pilots must possess a hard copy of the waiver when filing a flight plan and must keep a copy in the aircraft.
  8. Proposed destinations (or specific itinerary) are required for all fleet waivers.
  9. The start and end flight dates must be indicated on the waiver application form.

No Transponder Waivers - "No Transponder" waivers authorize Visual Flight Rules (VFR) operations to/from and within the airspace of the United States without an operating encoding transponder. "No Transponder" waivers are issued for up to 3 months under the following conditions:

Process:

  1. Applicants must submit a completed waiver request via www.newaddress.com. If internet access is unavailable, please submit the downloadable request forms via fax.
  2. The waiver application is reviewed and evaluated by the Office of Airspace Waivers.
  3. Companies/Pilots are required to provide TSA with updated information on all new pilots, flight crew, and passengers who fly on any aircraft listed on a no transponder waiver.
  4. All pilots/crew/passengers must provide first name, middle name, last name, date of birth, city/state/country of birth, passport number, passport country of issuance, and a Social Security Number for US born.
  5. To renew an existing or expired fleet waiver the applicant must submit a new waiver request form and security statement.
  6. Pilots must possess a hard copy of the waiver when filing a flight plan and must keep a copy in the aircraft.
  7. Operators must make prior coordination with the governing air traffic control facility(s).
  8. "No Transponder" waivers do not grant access into any TFR area.
  9. A No Transponder waiver may be issued for up to three (3) months.
  10. A flight itinerary must be provided for all No Transponder waivers.
  11. The start and end flight dates must be indicated on the waiver form.
