Individuals with Disabilities

TSA is committed to promoting positive employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Individuals with disabilities may apply for a TSA position through a non-competitive hiring process. Eligible applicants may be hired through an expedited process that eliminates competitive rating and ranking.

Security occupations include strict physical and medical requirements. As a result, individuals with disabilities will often find the greatest opportunities at TSA in management, administrative and professional positions. All applicants who apply for vacancies with specific physical qualification requirements, such as Transportation Security Officer and Federal Air Marshal positions, must meet the physical qualification requirements as outlined in the job opportunity announcements.

During the application process, individuals with disabilities may request non-competitive consideration and be placed on a separate referral list. Applicants must include specific disability documentation from a licensed medical professional, a licensed vocational rehabilitation specialist, or any federal agency, state agency or agency of the District of Columbia or a U.S. territory that issues or provides disability benefits.

If your disability prevents you from using or you require additional assistance, please contact the TSA OHCAccess Help Desk by calling 877-872-7990 to speak with a representative, TDD number 877-872-7992, or email your request.
