Associates Program

TSA has partnered with institutions of higher education around the country to provide employees the opportunity to earn a Certificate in Homeland Security and associate degree in homeland security or related field.

Books 24x7

A free e-learning resource for employees to download and access career development tools such as success-related books, videos and other content.

Career Coaching

Use the free career coaching service to refine your resume, practice interviewing, take career assessments and strategically plan for your current and future career goals.

Historian Program

Visit important cultural and historical exhibits, displays and an online interactive timeline highlighting key dates in TSA’s history as well as watch videos of our former leaders, learn about the establishment of TSA and key milestones.

Leadership Programs

TSA develops and manages a number of leadership programs to help develop a robust, multi-faceted, diverse cadre of leaders at all levels of the organization. The programs provide a learning environment to increase proficiency in key competencies across the mission-critical positions in both headquarters and field locations.

Mentoring Program

A mentoring forum for employees and leaders at all levels to partner for mutual benefit and to build engagement and community.

Online leadership (and other) courses that are self-paced and available to every employee (even at home).

Official Personnel Folder

TSA Employees
Current and recently separated (90 days) TSA employees may access their records through the electronic official personnel folder. Additional assistance may be provided from your home facility's human resource/administrative office.

Former TSA Employees
For additional information, please visit the Office of Personnel Management.

Former federal civilian employees (person of record) may obtain copies of available civilian personnel and medical records at the National Personnel Records Center, including copies of the standard form 50 by submitting a written request. Official personnel folders are transferred to the center following 120 days after separation from the federal government. Employees requesting their personnel folder within 120 from separation may contact the last employing federal office. Different release procedures apply for archival civilian personnel records.

Federal law requires all requests for records and information be submitted in writing. Each request must be signed (in cursive) and dated (within the last year). Please identify the documents or information needed and explain the purpose of your request.

Basic information needed to locate civilian personnel records:

  • Full name used during federal employment
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security number (if applicable)
  • Name and location of employing federal agency
  • Beginning and ending dates of federal service

Workers’ Compensation Program Records

Current and former TSA employees seeking records pertaining to Office of Worker’s Compensation records may contact the U.S. Department of Labor or in writing by following the procedures below.

To submit a request:

  • Include your workers’ compensation claim number* on the top of every page.
  •  Send only single sided copies and be sure to keep a copy for your records.

Employees are entitled to one free copy per case under the Privacy Act and may obtain updates of a case file upon written request at no charge. Charges for additional copies of case files may apply.

Claims filed after 2002 are available in CD-ROM format if requested.

Civil Rights Division

The Civil Rights Division processes allegations of unlawful discrimination and harassment in accordance with applicable federal laws. Federal employees must seek Equal Employment Opportunity counseling within 45 days of the agency’s alleged act of discrimination or the effective date of the personnel action.

EEO laws protect federal workers and job applicants from discrimination and reprisal for claiming discrimination based upon:

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act: Race, color, religion, sex or national origin in hiring and employment practices.

Equal Pay Act: Gender for paying unequal wages for equal work under equal circumstances in the same workplace.

Age Discrimination in Employment Act: Age over 40 years.

Rehabilitation Act: Disability of qualified workers or failure to provide a reasonable accommodation.

Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act: Genetic information, either from the person’s own genetic tests or those of family members.

Office of Inspection

The Office of Inspection conducts criminal and administrative investigations of employees who are alleged to have committed misconduct. The office conducts criminal investigations of entities and persons regulated by TSA as well as identifies and tests vulnerabilities in passenger, baggage and cargo operations among other responsibilities.

The Office of Professional Responsibility ensures timely, fair and consistent discipline throughout the agency. The office directs adjudication of allegations of misconduct, decides appeals by transportation security officers of adverse actions and oversight of discipline imposed in the field.

OHC National Resolution Center

The TSA National Resolution Center administers the unitary dispute resolution system to include the grievance process and non-EEO alternative dispute resolution programs such as non-EEO mediation, facilitation and conflict management coaching. Contact the center to file a grievance. An employee who files a grievance shall not be subject to restraint, coercion, discrimination or reprisal as a result of, or in connection with, having filed the grievance. Ombudsman Division

TSA’s Ombudsman Division is a source for confidential, neutral, informal and independent assistance to address your workplace-related problems, issues and concerns. We are often the first choice for employees who are uncertain where to reach out or how to address a particular issue or concern.

The Ombudsman works with individuals and groups using a variety of alternative dispute resolution approaches such as negotiation, facilitated conversations and coaching to help resolve issues. The goal is to help resolve conflict at the lowest level possible.

Workplace Sexual Harassment Prevention

TSA is committed to maintaining a work environment free from sexual harassment, where employees maintain the public trust and are held to high standards of honesty, integrity, impartiality and conduct. Sexual harassment of, or by any employee in any form, is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Report any instance of alleged sexual harassment to your first line supervisor or to another supervisor or manager. Alternatively, report this matter to the Civil Rights Division, the local sexual harassment point of contact or the sexual harassment prevention coordinator, field or headquarters counsel or the Office of the Ombudsman.

Workplace Violence Prevention

The TSA Workplace Violence Prevention Program is dedicated to the prevention and mitigation of any incident of workplace violence. Training is provided to identify, avoid and report potential incidents of workplace violence. Training also focuses on identifying, assessing and managing individuals who pose the risk of violence in the workplace. Employees should immediately report threats of violence, violent incidents or similar inappropriate conduct by TSA employees or third parties to their supervisors, local workplace violence prevention coordinators or management.

For information on how to download the app, email your question.

Once the app is downloaded, employees can set their personal preferences for "My News" that enables direct communications from field locations and program offices of their choosing. Employees can "like" their favorite content, which provides publishers insight into the types of communications employees prefer to read and view.
