Kevin F. Frederick

Kevin F. Frederick serves as the Assistant Administrator for Compliance. The Compliance Directorate identifies and documents vulnerabilities in the global transportation system through the implementation of TSA’s regulatory oversight, quality control program and with the Foreign Airport Assessment and Air Carrier Inspection Program. These congressionally mandated functions ensure that risks are continually evaluated at approximately 730 domestic and international airports for over 10,000 regulated entities. He is responsible for the management of Compliance Operations, the Compliance Oversight Directorate and six Regional Operations Centers employing over 170 people around the globe and managing the Compliance Implementation Plan for TSA.

Previously Frederick served as the Federal Security Director at Charlotte/Douglas International, Asheville Regional and Concord-Padgett Regional Airports from June 2014 until June 2021. He was appointed to the Transportation Security Executive Service in January 2013 as the Deputy Federal Security Director at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall, Hagerstown & Salisbury airports.

Prior to joining TSA, Frederick was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Joint, Interagency and Multinational Operations at the US Army Command and General Staff College.

He served 32 years in the Marine Corps, retiring in December 2011. Major assignments included Current Operations Officer, Operations Officer, and Chief of Staff at the Marine Expeditionary Force level. During Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005, he was the Marine Corps’ Senior Liaison Officer to Multinational Corps – Iraq. His last active duty assignment was as the Chief of Staff for NATO Regional Command Southwest from 2010-2011 during Operation Enduring Freedom in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Frederick earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Union College in Schenectady, New York, a Master of Science in Management from Troy State University, and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the Marine Corps University.
