Assistant Administrator for TSA Investigations

John M. Busch

John Busch is the Assistant Administrator and Executive Director of TSA Investigations. In this role, he oversees all aspects of investigations into criminal and administrative misconduct impacting TSA personnel and operations.

Busch began his career with TSA in September 2007. He has served in various leadership positions including the Special Agent in Charge of the Inspector General Liaison and Hotline office, and the Assistant Director for Special Investigations.

Prior to joining TSA, Busch retired from the United States Air Force, completing a distinguished career as a counterintelligence and special investigations officer. His assignments included overseas tours in the Republic of Korea and deployment in 2004 for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He finished his Air Force career with an assignment at the Pentagon, where he was responsible for force protection doctrine and policy development.
