Dennis Scarborough is the TSA Deputy Chief of Staff. In this capacity, he directly supports the Administrator, Deputy Administrator, and Chief of Staff in accomplishing the TSA mission through the implementation of the TSA Strategy and Administrator’s Intent, while ensuring the actions and activities in support of the Administrator are coordinated and managed across its program offices.  

Scarborough directly oversees the business aspects of the Administrator’s front office, the Executive Secretariat, the Audit Liaison Division, and Direct Reports Resource Management Office. The latter provides human resource; information technology; and budget, finance, and acquisition support to the Administrator’s direct staff and seven direct reporting program offices.

Scarborough joined TSA in 2017 after a distinguished 27-year career in the U.S. Air Force. He has command and leadership experience at the Wing, Group, and Squadron levels along with operational assignments as an F-15C instructor and evaluator pilot, Chief of Safety, aircraft maintenance and munitions officer, and joint assignments with the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy, Washington, DC, and Combined Forces Command, Republic of South Korea.  

Scarborough is a 1990 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and holds master’s degrees in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Joint Campaign Planning and Strategy from the National Defense University’s Joint Advanced Warfighting School. He and his wife reside in Burke, Virginia.
