David Kohl is the Executive Assistant Administrator/Director of the Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service for the Transportation Security Administration.
Before taking over the position in October 2018, Kohl was the Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge of the Chicago field office. During his tenure at TSA, he has established partnerships with federal, state, and local leaders in support of TSA’s mission.
Previously, Kohl served as the Assistant Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge of the Chicago field office and Deputy Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge of TSA’s Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response program. He joined FAMS in 2002 and was assigned to the Washington field office.
Kohl began his career in law enforcement with the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division in 1991.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from National Louis University in Washington, D.C.
