Stacey Fitzmaurice was named TSA’s Executive Assistant Administrator for Operations Support in July 2018. Fitzmaurice is responsible for implementing processes that strengthen operations support services. Operations Support oversees TSA’s offices of Global Strategies; Policy, Plans, and Engagement; Intelligence and Analysis; and Requirements and Capabilities Analysis.
While Deputy Executive Assistant Administrator for Security Operations, Fitzmaurice managed TSA’s domestic security operations for more than 53,000 employees and a $4.1 billion annual budget. She oversaw airport checkpoint, baggage, and air cargo screening operations for approximately 450 federalized airports and enforced regulatory compliance.
In her previous role as Deputy Assistant Administrator for Intelligence & Analysis, Fitzmaurice led efforts to strengthen intelligence information sharing and counterterrorism programs and oversaw the implementation of recurrent criminal vetting.
Fitzmaurice also served as Division Director for Checkpoint Solutions and Integration in TSA’s Office of Security Capabilities where she led efforts to identify, acquire, and manage state-of-the-art screening technologies. She also oversaw the scientific validation of TSA’s Behavior Detection program and optimized protocols, driving efficiencies in the process.
Fitzmaurice served in several other TSA program management positions, including Secure Flight. Before beginning her federal career, she held supervisory positions with the Airlines Reporting Corporation, US Airways, and Trans States Airlines.
Fitzmaurice has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Elon University. She has earned several awards for leadership at TSA, including TSA’s Trailblazer Award in recognition of her pioneering efforts toward the advancement of women.
