Statement
Sunday, March 15, 2020

“TSA confirms that one Transportation Security Officer who works at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Because the TSA officer was already out on leave beginning on March 3rd  before becoming symptomatic, no others at the airport would have been impacted according to health officials. The officer is resting at home. Screening checkpoints remain open and the agency is working with the CDC, as well as the Florida Department of Health, Broward County office to monitor the situation as well as the health and safety of our employees and the traveling public. We will update as more information becomes available.”
