ORLANDO – Demand for travelers interested in enrolling in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) TSA Pre✓® program has been so strong that a temporary enrollment center will be available in the area in addition to the several permanent enrollment centers already in the region.
The special enrollment center will be open for five days, but will include late evening and Saturday hours.
The office will be open July 26 through 30 at the Hampton Inn – Orlando International Airport, 5767 T.G. Lee Boulevard, Lighthouse Conference Room, with hours Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking will be free.
With this busy summer travel season being one of the strongest the airline industry has seen, airports and TSA checkpoints continue to handle heavier volumes than in previous years. Travelers who are enrolled in TSA Pre✓® or one of the other “trusted traveler” programs such as Global Entry, SENTRI or NEXUS are permitted to keep on their shoes, belts, light outerwear jacket and can leave their laptops and liquid 3-1-1 bags inside their carry-on bags when they go through the checkpoint.
The TSA Pre✓® lanes at Orlando International Airport (MCO) are open in both checkpoints from 4 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. on the west checkpoint and until 9:30 p.m. on the east checkpoint.
To enroll in the program, travelers can make an appointment by selecting the conveniently located temporary site or the permanent office inside of MCO. Go to the TSA Pre✓® section on the website and complete the enrollment in-person at the TSA Pre✓® application center selected. This application process allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to enroll directly in TSA Pre✓® – an expedited screening program that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on, at select TSA airport checkpoint screening lanes. Approximately 160 airports are participating in TSA Pre✓® nationwide and 16 airlines participate in the program including Aeromexico, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Airlines, American Airlines, Cape Air, Delta Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Seaborne Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country, United Airlines, Virgin America and WestJet.
The application fee is $85 and is valid for five years. It can be paid at the time of your appointment by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted. Fingerprints are also required during the in-person enrollment session.

After completing enrollment, successful applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) via U.S. mail within a few days that is valid for five years. The enrollee should enter the provided KTN in the “Known Traveler Number” field when booking airline reservations. The KTN also can be added when booking reservations online via a participating airline website, via phone call to the airline reservation center, or with the travel management company making reservations. Additionally, the KTN can be saved into individual frequent flyer profiles, where it will be stored for future reservations made directly from that airline’s website when the traveler is logged in.
