HOUSTON – Houston-area travelers now have one more way to apply for the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) popular TSA Pre✓® program at a temporary application center that opens tomorrow at the Houston Airport Marriott at Bush Intercontinental.
The application center will be located in the Harris Conference room at the hotel beginning Tuesday, August 23 through Saturday, Aug. 27. The hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Parking is free.
Walk-ins are accepted, but applicants are encouraged to pre-enroll online. Applicants must bring documentation proving identity and citizenship status and submit fingerprints. The application fee is $85 for a five-year membership.
Travelers who are enrolled in TSA Pre✓® are permitted to keep on their shoes, belts and light jackets, and can leave their laptops and 3-1-1 baggie of liquids and gels in their carry-on bags when they go through a security checkpoint at more than 180 participating airports. Members of U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s trusted traveler programs, such as Global Entry, SENTRI or NEXUS, automatically receive TSA Pre✓® benefits.
Approved passengers will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) in one to two weeks. Travelers should enter this number in the KTN field when booking airline reservations.
Participating airlines include: Aeromexico, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Airlines, American Airlines, Cape Air, Delta Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Seaborne Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country, United Airlines, Virgin America and WestJet.
