MISSOULA, Mont. – Travelers who are interested in becoming a trusted traveler and enrolling in the popular TSA Pre✓® program can do so at the Missoula International Airport (MSO) today through Friday.

The application center is located in the airport’s conference room on the first floor. It will be open today until 7 p.m.; Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TSA Pre✓® is an expedited screening program that allows flyers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and keep 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels in a carry-on bag. Four airlines that serve MSO – Alaska Airlines, Allegiant, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines – participate in TSA Pre✓®. Travelers who want to enjoy the benefits of TSA Pre✓® on a consistent basis are encouraged to enroll in the program.

TSA Pre✓® enrollment services are provided by a company contracted to the Transportation Security Administration. Enrollment at MSO was supposed to begin Monday. However, computer router issues prevented the contractor from being able to process enrollments as scheduled. New equipment has been installed and the enrollment system is now working.

If local residents scheduled an appointment to enroll in TSA Pre✓® Monday, they are encouraged to make another appointment later this week. There is currently ample appointment availability.

Travelers can make an appointment online to enroll at MSO. An in-person visit is required to complete the enrollment process. Applicants must bring a current U.S. passport or a driver’s license and certified copy of a birth certificate, and fingerprints will be collected during the in-person session.

The application fee is $85 and trusted traveler status is good for five years. It can be paid at the time of your appointment by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.

Once approved, individuals will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) making them eligible to utilize TSA Pre✓® lanes on a consistent basis at security checkpoints at airports nationwide. Children 12 and under are permitted to use the TSA Pre✓® lane when traveling with a TSA Pre✓® eligible parent or guardian.

As always, TSA continues to incorporate random and unpredictable security measures both seen and unseen throughout the airport. All travelers will be screened, and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening.
