EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced that a temporary application center where individuals can apply for TSA Pre✓® will be open at Chippewa Valley Regional Airport (EAU) from Monday, Oct. 24 through Friday, Oct. 28.
The application center will be located in the Airport Conference Room, adjacent to Hanger 54 Grill. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
TSA Pre✓® is an expedited screening program where members can leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt in designated screening lanes. Passengers also can keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on. A TSA Pre✓® lane at Chippewa Valley Regional Airport opened in May 2014.
Although walk-ins will be accepted, applicants are strongly encouraged to make an appointment and pre-enroll online. After pre-enrolling, travelers must visit an application center to provide fingerprints and proof of citizenship or legal residency using valid required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation. An $85 fee covers a five-year membership. Approved members will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) that can be accessed online in about a week.
“We are pleased to bring this temporary enrollment center to Chippewa Valley Regional to give residents of Eau Claire and surrounding communities the opportunity to enroll in TSA Pre✓®,” said Mark Lendvay, TSA federal security director for Wisconsin.
