MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will open a temporary application center for one week from December 18-22 at the General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) where individuals can apply for TSA Pre✓®.
The application center will be open Monday through Thursday, Dec. 18-21 from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and on Friday, Dec. 22 from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. and noon – 4 p.m. The center will be located in room B133 in the baggage claim area. Passengers do not have to purchase an airline ticket to access the application center. MKE has TSA Pre✓® lanes at both checkpoints.
Travelers who are enrolled in TSA Pre✓® or another trusted traveler program such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Global Entry, SENTRI or NEXUS are permitted to keep on their shoes, belts and light outerwear jacket, and can leave their laptops and liquid 3-1-1 bags inside their carry-on bags when transiting the checkpoint. To find the program that best suits your travel needs, use the DHS trusted traveler comparison tool.
The TSA Pre✓® application process allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to go through a pre-enrollment process online and then visit an application center to provide biographic information (e.g. name, date of birth, address, etc.), fingerprints and valid required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation. Although pre-enrollment online is recommended, walk-ins also are accepted. There is a nonrefundable application fee of $85 for a five-year membership. Approved applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number that can be used when making airline reservations.
Interested individuals can begin the application process online by visiting https://universalenroll.dhs.gov and selecting “Pre-Enroll Now” in the TSA Pre✓® section of the webpage.
