CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In honor of the enduring sacrifice of our nation’s military families, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is proud to announce a new partnership with Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to enhance the travel experience for members of the U.S. military community as part of a national campaign.
TSA is introducing expedited access at CLT’s TSA PreCheck® lanes for active-duty service members and their families. In support of our service members and families at military installations in North and South Carolina, including Fort Bragg, one of the largest military bases in the world, CLT will offer front-of-the-line privileges for military families. Additionally, on certain days when larger crowds are expected, CLT may open a dedicated screening lane for members of the military.
“We are proud to support our military members as they travel through CLT,” said TSA Federal Security Director for North Carolina Gregory Hawko. “TSA CLT has a strong partnership with our military community, and expanding TSA PreCheck benefits will directly assist the more than 100,000 active-duty service members and their families stationed in our region. TSA is committed to honoring the service and sacrifice of military families by ensuring their travel is convenient and stress-free.”
TSA will also provide the following benefits to all military members and their families:
- Gold Star families can enroll in TSA PreCheck at no cost.
- Spouses of active-duty personnel can receive a $25 discount on the TSA PreCheck enrollment fee.
- TSA PreCheck remains free for uniformed service members.
The TSA Cares program remains available for veterans and wounded warriors, providing personalized assistance through the screening process and ensuring a smooth and seamless screening experience.
