BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Demand from travelers interested in enrolling in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) popular TSA Pre✓® program has been so strong this summer that a temporary application center will open in a Bloomington, Minn., hotel for five days, increasing local appointment availability.
The temporary application center will be available for the week of August 23 - 27 at the Woodlands Conference Room in the Hilton Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Mall of America. Complimentary parking is available during the enrollment process.
Enrollment at the temporary location will be offered during the following hours:
Tuesday, Aug. 23 and Wednesday, Aug. 24
10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 25 to Saturday, Aug. 27
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
TSA Pre✓® is a Trusted Traveler program that allows flyers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels in a carry-on bag. TSA operates dedicated TSA Pre✓® lanes in both terminals at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).
“We are pleased that this special enrollment opportunity is being made available for interested travelers in the Twin Cities area,” said Clifford Van Leuven, TSA Federal Security Director for Minnesota. “The temporary location will offer evening hours and be open on Saturday. If you have been thinking of becoming a Trusted Traveler, now is a great time to do so.”
In addition to the five-day availability at the hotel, enrollment continues to be available at four permanent centers at the locations and hours listed below.
Bloomington - IdentoGO

Brooklyn Center - EMSI

Saint Louis Park - H&R Block

MSP Terminal 1 - Concourse C, near gate C21

Local enrollment statistics show that as of August 17, 2016, more than 78,000 people have enrolled at the permanent local enrollment sites. This includes 41,347 at MSP; 18,925 in Bloomington; 14,327 in Brooklyn Center and 3,892 in Saint Louis Park.
Travelers can make an appointment online to apply for TSA Pre✓® and complete the enrollment process in-person at the TSA Pre✓® application center of their choice. Enrollees will need to bring documentation proving identity, citizenship status and fingerprints. Fingerprints are collected during the in-person enrollment session.
The application fee is $85 and Trusted Traveler status is good for five years. It can be paid at the time of your appointment by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.
Once approved, individuals will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) making them eligible to utilize TSA Pre✓® lanes on a consistent basis at security checkpoints at airports nationwide. Children 12 and under are permitted to use the TSA Pre✓® lane when traveling with a TSA Pre✓®- eligible parent or guardian.
Seven airlines that serve MSP participate in TSA Pre✓® including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines and United Airlines. A passenger must be flying on a participating airline in order to be eligible to use the TSA Pre✓® lane on a consistent basis.
As always, TSA continues to incorporate random and unpredictable security measures both seen and unseen throughout the airport. All travelers will be screened, and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening.
