BOZEMAN, Mont. - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reminded Gallatin Valley residents they can enroll in the popular TSA Pre✓® expedited screening program for one week starting Monday at Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport (BZN).

The TSA Pre✓® enrollment center will be located on the second floor of the airport pre-security area. It will be open offered starting Monday, Jan, 15 through Friday, Jan, 19 from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The airport is located at 850 Gallatin Field Road in Belgrade, Mont.

TSA Pre✓® allows Trusted Travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt. During peak travel times at BZN, passengers can also keep their laptop in its case and keep travel-size liquids and gels in their carry-on bag. Travelers who want to enjoy the benefits of TSA Pre✓® on a consistent basis are encouraged to enroll in the program.

“We are pleased to partner with Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport to once again offer TSA Pre✓® enrollment to the local community,” said Dan Fevold, TSA federal security director for Montana. “We strongly encourage people who travel by air even a couple of times a year to become Trusted Travelers by enrolling in this program. TSA Pre✓® streamlines the security checkpoint process and is available at airports nationwide.”

The process to enroll begins online at tsa.gov/precheck. Click on the words “Apply Now” to enter some basic biographical information and to make an appointment. For location, select “Belgrade, MT” for the airport enrollment center.

Appointments are available for Thursday, Jan. 18 and Friday, Jan. 19. Walk-ins are permitted any day and will be accommodated around scheduled appointments.

Applicants must bring a current U.S. passport or a driver license and a certified copy of a birth certificate. Fingerprints will be collected during the in-person session.

The application fee is $85 and Trusted Traveler status is good for five years. It can be paid at the time of your appointment by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.

Once approved, individuals will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) making them eligible to utilize TSA Pre✓® lanes on a consistent basis at security checkpoints at airports nationwide. Children 12 and under are permitted to use the TSA Pre✓® lane when traveling with a TSA Pre✓®- eligible parent or guardian.

Forty-two airlines participate in TSA Pre✓® and travelers departing a U.S. airport flying on any of those airlines are eligible for expedited screening. As always, TSA continues to incorporate random and unpredictable security measures both seen and unseen throughout the airport. All travelers will be screened, and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening.
