This traveler was channeling their inner Katniss Everdeen when they grabbed their bow and arrow kit and tried to hop on board a flight leaving Des Moines International Airport. Sadly for them, the odds were not ever in their favor. This one wasn’t a hard catch for our officers to spot, as a neon-colored bow and arrows sort of stand out from your typical carry-on items.

We never thought we’d find Snow as the relatable character here, but we really felt it when he said “it’s the things we love the most that destroy us.” We love the great catches coming in from across the country during #ProhibitedItemsWeek, but holy smokes… why do we have to keep telling y’all that you can’t bring weapons in your carry-on bag?

If you decide to volunteer as tribute, we’d like to remind you to please securely wrap your bow and arrows, throwing knives, tridents, or other sharp weapons and place them in your checked baggage.

Looking for guidance or advice regarding your upcoming travels? Our AskTSA team tells us that Haymitch, Effie and Cinna are their favorite characters. They’re always going to be there to answer your questions… or at least during their working hours of 8am-8pm on weekdays and 9am-7pm on weekends and holidays. Feel free to send them a DM if you need a helping hand.

Thank you for your consideration.
