Today, we remember the victims and honor the heroes of September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 people died in a horrific act of terrorism.
On that day, the nation came together in shared sorrow. Just as quickly as we were attacked, we showed our resilience and resolve to protect our freedoms.
Many who work at TSA answered the immediate call to action to prevent another 9/11, and each swore an oath to protect the freedoms we cherish as Americans. We took on the hard job of protecting our nation and its transportation systems.
Today we pause in solemn remembrance of the victims who died and those they left behind. And, we stand firm in our resolve to prevent a similar attack from ever happening again.
