TSA Administrator John S. Pistole gave the keynote address at the Symposium on Innovation in Aviation Security Oct. 21 in Montreal, Canada. Presented by the International Civil Aviation Organization, the symposium brings together international government officials, regulators, airport authorities and other aviation professionals to understand and guide future innovations in aviation security technologies.
In his remarks, Administrator Pistole addressed the importance of collaboration and global harmonization of security procedures to strengthen aviation security for all travelers and the shipment of cargo.
Mr. Pistole also discussed TSA’s plan to move forward with the private-sector application initiative as an additional option for travelers to apply for TSA Pre✓® in 2015.
Held Oct. 21 to 23, the “Where Security and Technology Meet” symposium features presentations and panels that discuss technology optimization, innovation in risk-based screening processes and enhancing screening processes, among other aviation-related issues.
