Forum addresses key security issues
Administrator Peter Neffenger spoke at the sixth annual Aspen Security Forum on July 25 in Aspen, Colo.
He served on a panel titled “The NSC, DHS and State: Using All the Instruments of National Power to Combat Threats,” where he and panelists from the National Security Council, Department of Homeland Security and Department of State discussed their respective roles in responding to security challenges.
During this session, Neffenger discussed threats to the aviation sector and how TSA is responding to these threats. He explained how the agency is guided by a risk-based strategy, using a multi-method, intelligence-driven approach to protect the nation’s transportation systems. He also discussed TSA’s continuous efforts to improve system capabilities and adapt to evolving threats.
Presented by the Aspen Institute’s Homeland Security Program, the Aspen Security Forum invites top level government officials, industry leaders, think tanks, academia and journalists to address key security issues and answer critical questions about national and homeland security.
