Enroll or renew in TSA PreCheck for free

Free: Gold Star and Military Survivor Families

Eligibility

How it works

The offer is available for first time customers, as well as customers who would like to renew their TSA PreCheck membership. Before starting the process, customers must have the verification letter of their Gold Star status from the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. Customers will provide this letter proving their eligibility.

  • To start the verification process, please contact TAPS via their 24/7 National Military Survivor Helpline at 800-959-TAPS (8277) or 202-588-8277 (TAPS), as well as info@taps.org
  • Currently there are two TSA PreCheck enrollment providers able to offer the discount: CLEAR and IDEMIA*.

Pick your enrollment provider

The process for getting the offer and the locations for enrolling vary by enrollment provider. Customers should determine which enrollment provider is best for them and start the process online by visiting CLEAR and IDEMIA’s official TSA PreCheck enrollment websites.

Frequently Asked Questions

The term dates back to WWI when family members placed flags with blue stars on their houses to signify their loved one was at war. The star on the flag would be changed to gold if their service member died. Gold Star recognition includes spouses, parents, children, and siblings who carry forward the legacy of their fallen heroes.

*TSA PreCheck® enrollment eligibility is a requirement for any discount. TSA has three authorized TSA PreCheck enrollment providers: CLEAR, IDEMIA, and Telos. Telos is currently unable to offer the discounts. At this time, eligible applicants must enroll or renew with CLEAR or IDEMIA and follow their process to receive the discount/rebate. Applicants interested in receiving the discount and enrolling with Telos, must wait until Telos is able to offer the discount. TSA will not issue a reimbursement to applicants who enroll or renew with Telos before they are able to offer the discount. A discount or rebate off the TSA PreCheck enrollment fee does not guarantee acceptance into the TSA PreCheck Application Program. All standard TSA PreCheck application terms and conditions apply.
