Holly C. Mehringer was named the Deputy Assistant Administrator and Deputy Chief Financial Officer in March of 2022. She is responsible for all facets of financial management for TSA, including budget, finance and revenue management and services supporting national transportation security operations at 440 airports and overseas locations. She also oversees TSA’s compliance with the Federal Managers’ Financial Integrity Act and planning, formulating, defending and executing its $8 billion annual budget.

Previously, DAA Mehringer was the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Budget Director in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. She was responsible for the formulation, presentation, execution, control and monitoring of the Department’s $90 billion budget for 15 Component agencies.

DAA Mehringer, a native of Massillon, Ohio, began her civil service career with the Air Force as a Palace Acquire intern. Over her 18-year career with the Air Force, she held a wide range of roles, including positions on base, at the headquarters-level in areas of leadership, budget formulation and execution, a Major Command and a career broadening opportunity as a Mission Support Group Deputy.

DAA Mehringer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Mathematics from Wittenberg University, a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Charleston and a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University.  DAA Mehringer was inducted into the Senior Executive Service in October of 2018.
