Robert P. Vente

Robert P. Vente serves as the Acting Executive Assistant Administrator for Operations Support, providing innovative solutions and processes to protect U.S. transportation systems and the traveling public. He accountable for assessing intelligence and threats related to transportation security; managing all TSA enrollment, vetting, credentialing and prescreening programs; developing and coordinating multimodal transportation security policy and programs and strengthening operational capabilities in order to meet the TSA mission.

Previously, Vente served as the Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA) for Policy, Plans and Engagement. He had executive responsibility for developing effective, efficient and risk-reducing policies and plans in cooperation with the nation's transportation stakeholders and partners. Interested parties included airports, airlines, general aviation, air cargo, mass transit, passenger and freight rail, pipeline, highway and motor carriers and maritime.

With over 30 years of federal government experience, Vente successfully implemented new program initiatives with an emphasis on international transportation security.

Previously, Vente served as the DAA for the Office of Global Strategies where he accomplished TSA’s risk-based, intelligence-driven counterterrorism mission overseas. He developed and implemented security procedures for an evolving risk environment, while ensuring international and TSA compliance.

Vente served as the Regional Director for Europe, the Regional Director for Africa and the Middle East and as TSA Representative in the Netherlands to include Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

Before posting overseas, Vente was the Senior Counselor to the TSA Deputy Administrator. He advised the TSA Administrator, Deputy Administrator and TSA senior leadership on high visibility programs and operations.

Between 2007 and 2010, Vente served as Assistant Chief Counsel for Field Operations where he worked as the principal legal advisor to Security Operations and managed all TSA field attorneys.

Vente has a Juris Doctor from Duquesne University’s School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University. He has also completed leadership programs at the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia.
