Security Operations - Deputy Executive Assistant Administrator
Steve Lorincz

Steve Lorincz is the Deputy Executive Assistant Administrator for Security Operations. Prior to assuming his current role in December 2022, he served as the Federal Security Director for the state of Michigan. Lorincz oversees airport checkpoint, baggage and air cargo screening operations for approximately 430 domestic airports and delivers advanced explosives detection capabilities through TSA’s canine and explosives specialist teams. Internationally, Lorincz provides oversight for an additional 280 airports conducting last points of departure operations to and from the U.S.
Lorincz is also responsible for ensuring all modes of transportation, including aviation, mass transit, passenger and freight rail, highway and motor carrier, maritime, pipeline and air cargo are in compliance with domestic and international regulatory requirements.
Lorincz joined TSA in 2002 and was instrumental in establishing foundational practices for the agency. His extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge of the airline transportation business and related security, risk management, operational, workforce management and regulatory compliance matters are vital to the success of Security Operations.
Lorincz has held multiple leadership positions including Federal Security Director for the state of Michigan, Assistant Federal Security Director-Screening at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and member of the Administrator’s Inclusion Action Committee.
