BOSTON – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding a one-day, “fast track” hiring event on Saturday, April 6, to recruit full- and part-time TSA officers to work at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). TSA is looking to hire more than 50 full-time and part-time TSA officers to work at the airport. The goal is to have many of the new employees onboard ahead of the busy summer travel season.

This event enables individuals to participate in an accelerated hiring process by first attending an information session and then completing multiple steps in just one day.

Starting pay is $20.72 per hour, with opportunities for pay increases after six months.

Information sessions on Saturday are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Every 30 minutes at the Massachusetts State Police Troop F Building at Boston Logan Airport, 2 Service Road, East Boston, MA 02128. Public Transportation is available and strongly recommended. The MBTA Blue Line Airport Station is across the street from the event location. When you arrive at the station, take a left from the airport shuttle area and walk across the street towards the State Police Building.  Uniformed officers will be on hand to assist with directions.  If you are driving, parking is only available next door at the Economy Parking Garage for about $30 (for the day). Parking will not be validated or reimbursed. Information sessions, plus the preliminary hiring process, can take between three to five hours, so TSA recommends arriving early in the day.

During the hiring event, TSA officials will discuss the duties of a TSA officer and the application process. They also will provide an overview of working for the federal government and discuss benefits, which include paid leave, health care plans for full- and part-time employees and 401k coverage.

After the information session, those who are interested in pursuing employment with TSA may be asked to take a Computerized Battery Test (CBT), participate in a structured interview and fingerprinting. Applicants also will need to undergo a medical exam, which will be scheduled at a later date. Applicants can apply for the positions on-site, and are encouraged to pre-apply online early.

Candidates must be age 18 or older, hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent security experience, and be a U.S. citizen or national. Applicants are required to have two valid forms of state or federal identification.
